United States vs Francis Antis

Description: The file contains the Indictment of Francis Antis for assault and battery on William Stewart. There are four summons in the file. On August 7, 1804 Francis Antis was found guilty of assaulting William Stewart by a jury with John Harbin as foreman. Another jury with Robert Asturgas as foreman also found him guilty. The indictment was written by Benjamin Parke, Atty Genl. On August 10, 1804 summons for William Stewart and Henry Barkman[Barrachman] were issued by James Johnson and written by Robert Buntin. They were to appear at the November Term 1804. On the same day, a summons was also issued for Francis Antis to answer to the assault and battery on William Stewart. The summons were executed by Daniel Sullivan, Sheriff. On November 8, 1804 William Stewart and Henry Barkman [Barrachman] were again summoned to appear at the February Term 1805 by George Leech. Francis Antis was also summoned to answer to the assault and battery charge by George Leech. The summons were executed by Daniel Sullivan.
