Description: |
Complaint filed by Obadiah Jennings against John Lawrence for not paying rent and leaving the area. John Lawrence left the property (surveyors chain and compass) in the hands of John Thompson who then passed this property on to Joseph Bowman. The chain and compass were used to pay a gambling debt that John Lawrence owed. Mr. Jennings wants both Mr. Thompson and Mr. Bowman to swear oaths regarding the amount owed to them and the circumstances in which they obtained the compass and chain. |
