Two calves are posted and appraised by Matthew Bass, John Light and Edward Purcell. One is a nine month old calf valued at $2. This calf is red and white with a white spot on its forehead, it has a swallow fork in left ear and a split in right ear. The other nine month old calf is valued at $2.50. It has no markings except for white face, white belly and white streak on neck and ear. The appraisal is dated January 31, 1803. James Johnson, Justice of the Peace signs the appraisal value that was sworn to him by Matthew Bass, John Light and Edward Purcell. James Johnson says he agrees with the appraisal. The two calves have been in the possession of Thomas Holder since December 7, 1802 |
