William T. Page, cashier of the Bank of the State of Illinois at Mt. Carmel, Wabash County, Illinois says that on January 26, 1837 Joseph Thompson did promise to pay his 1/2 on a note of $200 and that Isaac Harness was to pay 1/2 of the note. The note states that Joseph has paid for Isaac Harness in the amount of these payments: January 10, 1840 he paid $21.44 1/2, August 10, 1840 he paid $10.96 and on March 10, 1841 he paid $1.09, and on Oct 25, 1841 he paid $20.03 for a total of $53.52 1/2. Hiram Bell, Clerk of the Mt. Carmel, Illinois witnessed and swore this to be true on February 12, 1842. |
