Garvin Carson and Company vs Martin Robinson, administrator of Theriac and Sellars

Description: A statement to the State Bank of Vincennes to pay $500 on December 10, 1838 to T and Sellars is signed by T. I. Carson. A receipt signed April 1839 by Michael Murphy for receiving payment of $462.58 on a note due him 4 months from April 1839 by Theriac and Sellars dated October 18. A receipt showing received from Theriac and Carson $175 on April 8, 1839 for 1 boat delivered to Shakertown, with the understanding that $150 for the amount of the boat and $25 for expenses incurred in getting another boat that Carson says he did not receive. The receipt was signed William Price. Thomas I. Carson is to send by bearer Mr. J. G Minord: 1 blacking pot, pork barrels and brush also six hundred dollars to pay for boats. Tthe men are here waiting for their money and oblige. Signed Theriac and Sellars. A notation states that $570 was sent on the action of above. A receipt dated Shakertown January 22, 1839 addressed to N. Smith and signed by Theriac and Sellars to pay William H. Hana $200 for pork speculation and oblige on the account of Sprinkle and Hana. A note showing received from Thomas I. Carson $1500 on December 14, 1838 @ Shakertown signed Theriac and Sellars. A note dated Shakertown, December 7, 1838 and signed Theriac and Sellars that states that Mr. Thomas I. Carson will pay on demand to Jonathan Sprott $200 and charge the same to the corn and pork speculations. A receipt that states received at Shakertown from T. I. Carson at the hands of N. Smith $300 on a corn contract and $500 on a pork contract received January 1. Also a notation that on January 23 they paid order to Hana $200. Signed Theriac and Sellars. A receipt dated Shakertown February 18th 1839 from Garvin Carson and Company $500 on corn and pork. signed Theriac and Sellars. A receipt dated Shakertown, March 24, 1839 from Garvin Carson for $100 for corn and pork signed by Theriac and Sellars. A reciept dated January 25, 1839 from Garvin Carson and Co. and Nick Smith for $600 to pay for pork. Signed Theriac and Sellars. A receipt dated Shakertown, February 13, 1839 from Garvin Carson and Co. for $100 to pay for corn. The receipt was signed by Theriac and Sellars. A receipt dated Shakertown, March 6, 1839 from Garvin Carson and Co. for $200 to pay for pork and corn signed by Theriac and Sellars. A receipt showing received at Shakertown, November 23, 1838 from Garvin Carson $500 on his account. The contract is for 10,000 bushels of corn. The account was made October 22 last and signed by Theriac and Sellars. A receipt showing received from Thomas I. Carson $507 to pay for corn. Signed by Theriac and Sellars and dated January 30, 1839. A receipt showing received $300 at Shakertown on February 27, 1839 from Garvin Carson to pay for pork and corn. A receipt showing received from Garvin Carson and Co. $100 to pay for boats on April 9, 1839 and $100 paid over to William Thomas on April 9, 1839. The receipt was signed by Theriac and Sellars. A statement on account for amount of pork furnished by Garvin Carson and Company and expenses rendered in the amount of $5730.59, for corn expenses $3,643.75 3/4, wheat expenses in the amount of $256.25 for a total of $9630.59 3/4. This is the actual amount of produce purchased by partnership with Garvin Carson and Company. Dated Vincennes, April 8, 1839 and signed by Theriac and Sellars. An indenture made between Garvin Carson and Company and Theriac and Sellars at Shakertown, November 22, 1838 to purchase pork and corn. The document was signed by Garvin Carson and Co. and Theriac and Sellars. A memo dated October 22, 1838 for 10,000 bushel of corn delivered to Garvin Carson by Theriac and Sellars on demand after March 1 next. They said Garvin Carson agrees to pay 35 cents for each 55 lbs. of corn for a total of $1180.76. A list of purchases and purchasers with amounts included dated 1839 showing pork speculations. A notation that $9630.57 3/4 amount purchased in partnership of Garvin Carson dated April 8, 1839. A total of sales with Garvin Carson and Co. dated April 1839 to July 1839 includes boat hand wages, wheat, corn and pork items for a total of $9,903.23. A listing of cash advances by Garvin Carson and Co. from October, 28, 1838 to July 1, 1839 with a $10,328.32 balance due G. C. $1,122.88. Corn speculation expenses $3643.75 3/4 listing for corn delivered, sacks, twine, needles, nails, shelling machine and building cribs. All documents filed May 18, 1843 by W. R. McCord, Clerk.
