Thomas Jones vs John Grant

Description: Attorney for the plaintiff is J.R.J. and the attorney for the defendant is James Johnson. Thomas Jones files suit against John Grant for $300 damages. Bail is set for $150.25. An affidavit is filed, the writ returned and executed, and a appearance bail for John Reburn, John Forrester and Adrian Davenport. James Crow is the Deputy Sheriff. On July 25, 1808 an appearance by plaintiffs attorney J.R.J. and defendants attorney John Johnson. John Forrester appeared in court and states he will pay and satisfy the court if plaintiff does not and will render himself to prison to pay the debt. A recognizance bond is discharged on July 27, 1808 on a motion of defendant by his attorney Benjamin Chambers, William McIntosh and John Small appear in court and say they will pay and satisfy court or will render their bodies to prison for defendant.
