Abrahm Haff vs William Thompson

Description: Abraham Haff states that William F. Thompson on August 29, 1809 did purchase 200 acres of land located on Bosseran (Busseron) Creek and was to pay defendant 129 lbs. 15 shillings of Virginia currency which is equal to $432.50 in the following proportions: 30 lbs. equal to $100 and due before October 13, 1810 and October 13, 1813 and 9 lbs, 15 shillings equal to $32.50 being last payment due on October 15, 1815. A subpoena was issued for William Thompson against William Thompson in March 1812 for him to answer to a Plea of Covenant Broken. Witness bails was set and executed by John J. Neely Deputy Sheriff and executed on February 27, 1812 on both William and John Thompson by Sheriff James Crow. Henry Hurst is the attorney for the defendant and General W. Johnston is the attorney for the plaintiff. Judgement by jury was given on July 7, 1812 for damages plus interest of $182.50. Jurors were: Christopher Wyant, Thomas Anderson, Thomas Martin, Peter Ruby, Henry Ruble, Richard Price, Levi Lander, William Barley, William Scott, Parker Idolet, William Braeden, and William Rutherford.
