Description: |
Civil court case in which Antoine Marchal, administrator of Francois Bosseron, was suing Barbara Brouillet, administratrix of Michel Brouillet for $300.00 damages for an unpaid debt. The debt was for 1830 livres, 5 sols in goods, wares, and merchandise, and taffia (rum). The parties were counter suing. In the present case the jurys verdict finding for the plaintiff Marchal was thrown out by the court. It is stated that the verdict did not support testimony given by witnesses. The case was assigned to arbitrators Samuel McKee, John Ockiltree, and Jacob Kuykendall. The arbitrators decided that both suits be dismissed and each party to pay their own court costs. The arbitrators fee of $3.00 was split between the parties. |
