Civil court case in which Polly (Mary) Adams and Jeremiah Claypoole, executrix and executor of George Adams, deceased, were suing Josiah Carrico for $60.00 damages. Carrico became indebted to George Adams on July 1, 1799, for goods, wares, and merchandise sold and delivered to Carrico, plus three months food, drink, washing, and lodging for Carrico, along with the feeding and keeping of Carricos horses, mares, and geldings all provided for by Adams. According to the Minute Book the suit was assigned to Abel Westfall and Jonathan Purcell for arbitration. The arbitrators determined a balance of 7 shillings 3 pence was due to Carrico. |
