This is the Grand Army of the Republic application of James A. Miller, dated June 7, 1890. James first enlisted in April 1861 (day omitted) as a 1st Class Fireman (?) in the U.S. Navy and was discharged on September 12, 1862. James re-enlisted on December 10, 1863 as a 2nd Ass. Engineer in the U.S. Navy and was discharged on October 20, 1865. James application was recommended by V.G. Dickhout. Examining Committee members were C.A. Power, J.F. OReilly, and I. Corban. Applicant Elected, Mustered, Number on Des. Book, Adjutant, and Post Commander information omitted. |
