Description: This is the Grand Army of the Republic Reinstatement application of Morton E. Lewis, dated May 11, 1899. Morton first enlisted in July 1863 (day omitted) as a Private in Company D 115th Regiment of the Indiana Volunteer Infantry and was discharged in February 1864 (day omitted). Morton re-enlisted in December 1864 (day omitted) as a Private in Company H 149th Regiment of the Indiana Volunteers and was discharged on September 23, 1865 as a Sergeant.
