Description: This is the Grand Army of the Republic application of Henry C. Jones, dated February 2, 1880. Henry first enlisted on September 5, 1861 as a Private in Company E 31st Regiment of the Indiana Volunteer Infantry and was discharged as a Corporal on December 31, 1863. Henry re-enlisted on January 1, 1864 as a Corporal in Company E 31st Regiment of the Indiana Veteran Infantry and was discharged as a 1st Sergeant on December 8, 1865. Henrys application was recommended by William Poths. Examining Committee members were William H. Armstrong, J.H. Henderson, and James Merriman. Applicant Elected and Mustered June 17, 1880. Number on Des. Book, Adjutant, and Post Commander information omitted.
