Description: This is the Grand Army of the Republic application of Thomas Harper, dated May 14, 1885. Thomas first enlisted on December 15, 1861 as a Private in Company F 54th Regiment of the Illinois Volunteer Infantry and was discharged on December 30, 1863. Thomas re-enlisted on January 1, 1864 as a Private in Company F 54th Regiment of the Illinois Volunteer Infantry and was discharged on October 15, 1865. Thomas application was recommended by James F. Murphy. Examining Committee members were Philip Andrews, John H. Lutz, and A.J. Thompson. Applicant Elected May 14, 1885 and Mustered May 21, 1885. No. on Des. Book: 437. George W. Davis, Adjutant; George W. Miller, Post Commander.
