Description: This is the Grand Army of the Republic application of David Hanes, dated May 15, 1890. David first enlisted on June 14, 1861 as a Private in Company D 21st Regiment of the Illinois Volunteer Infantry and was discharged on February 26, 1864. David re-enlisted on February 26, 1864 as a Private in Company D 21st Regiment of the Illinois Volunteer Infantry and was discharged on December 16, 1865. Davids application was recommended by John Beley. Examining Committee members were V.G. Dickhout and L. Burget. Applicant Elected, Mustered, Number on Des. Book, and Adjutant information omitted. Charles L. Feltus, Post Commander.
