Description: This is the Grand Army of the Republic application of Francis M. Blything, dated May 20, 1880. Francis first enlisted on April 16th, 1861 as a Musician in Company D 11th Indiana Volunteer Infantry and was discharged in August 1861. Francis re-enlisted on February 23rd, 1862 as a Musician in the 8th Battery of the Indiana Volunteers and was discharged on February 23, 1865. Franciss application was recommended by L. Burget. Examining Committee members were James Merriman, Thomas L. Gillaspie [?], and Jeremiah Voris. Applicant Elected, Mustered, Number on Des. Book, Adjutant, and Post Commander information omitted.
