Description: This is the Grand Army of the Republic application of Francis F. Bailey, dated December 3, 1885. Francis first enlisted on July 9, 1861 as a Private in Company A, 18th Regiment of the Indiana Volunteer Infantry and was discharged on December 31, 1863. Francis re-enlisted on January 1, 1864 as a Private in Company A, 18th Regiment of the Indiana Infantry and was discharged on September 22, 1865. Franciss application was recommended by Philip Andrews. Examining Committee members were J. E. Voorhees, John F. OReilly, and S. C. Lockman. Applicant Elected on December 10, 1885 and Mustered on December 17, 1885; No. on Des. Book: 462; George W. Davis, Adjutant; George W. Miller, Post Commander.
