Sage-Robison-Nagel Home

Description: Image of the Sage-Robison-Nagel Home, now occupied by the Vigo County Historical Society. The home is located at 1411 South Sixth Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, USA. The fountain pictured is no longer on the property. The image is facing west. The home is Italianate architecture. Construction was begun in 1868 by William H. Sage who had a Confectioners Shop in downtown Terre Haute. Mr. Sage and his children lived in the unfinished house until he sold it to Henry Robinson in 1876. Mr. Robinson completed the house and lived here until his death in 1904. It was sold to Clemens W. Nagel by Henry’s son, George in 1905. It remained in the Nagel family until the Vigo County Historical Society purchased it from Marcella Nagel Lundgren with monies given by the Hulman Foundation. The Museum opened to visitors on May 11, 1958.
