Ida Husted Harper

Description: Picture of items related to Ida Harper, author.•aFrom 'Ida Harper was born in Brooksville, Indiana, on 18th February, 1851. After marriage she worked as principal of Peru High School in Indiana. In 1884 she published Poems on Miscellaneous Subjects.In 1888 Harper found work as a journalist on the Terre Haute Evening Mail and later moved to the Indianapolis News (1891-92). A strong supporter of women's suffrage, Harper wrote a column Votes for Women in Harper's Magazine. Harper also wrote The Life and Work of Susan B. Anthony (1899) and The History of Woman Suffrage (1902). Ida Harper died on 14th March, 1931'.
