Oral hisotry interview Dan TeGrotenhuis

Description: An oral history interview with Dan TeGrotenhuis. Dan was the former area coordinator and director of programs for 13 years. He was asked to answer the following questions: How did you feel about taking the programming position with Special Olympics Indiana? What sports did you help bring to Special Olympics Indiana and were there any that you were particularly passionate about? What were some of the challenges involved with introducing new sports to SOI? How important were the efforts of volunteers during the early years of SOI? Introduction of the athlete quota system to the Summer games was a controversial move, so why did you and Dennis pursue this policy? Why were you and Dan hesitant, at first, to bring the World Games to Notre Dame? What is one of your favorite Special Olympics memories?
