This is one side of a beaded ciborium. This ciborium was in place of the tabernacle in the log cabin chapel that Saint Mother Theodore Guerin and her companions first visited on Oct. 22, 1840. A ciborium (singular form of ciboria) is a covered vessel for holding the consecrated hosts of Holy Communion. |
