The 17th general superior of the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana, Sister Ann Margaret served between 2001 and 2006. During her administration, the building of Mother Theodore Hall, a state-of-the-art health-care facility, was completed as well as the renovation of Karcher and Lourdes halls to be licensed for residential care. After discussion and review by Congregation members, her administration established a long-range planning process and developed a long-range plan for the next five years. During her term in office, a new sponsored ministry of the Congregation was started, Providence Cristo Rey, Indianapolis. Under her leadership, the Congregation increased its environmental responsibility by converting physical plant equipment at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods to use alternative fuels.
