Description: Photograph of Roy Turpin taken at his preliminary hearing for murder. He had attempted to commit suicide by slashing his throat with a glass shard from the drinking glass he smashed. Ten stitches were required to close the wound. Roy Turpin confessed to killing his sister Nora Turpin and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bateman.
