Description: The probate record for Ester Bazadone, 1822 is in box 10 of the probate records archive at the Knox County Public Library’s McGrady-Brockman House. The single item in the folder is a bond naming Laurence Shuler (Suler) as administrator for the estate. Bazadone “a woman of color” is a significant figure in Knox County history as she was the first woman to license a business and was a servant of Laurent Bazadone.
