The probate record for James Norman is housed in Box 68 of the Knox County probate records. It can be found at the Knox County Public Library’s McGrady-Brockman House. An affidavit is filed by James C. LaHue, stating that James Norman departed this life on December 5, 1863 and that his estate was valued about $800. Lucinda Norman, widow of James Norman, renounced her rights to execute the estate and asks that J. C. LaHue be appointed as her administrator. Other items that can be found in the file are: tax receipts, a sale bill, an inventory, two documents of disbursements paid, and various receipts. |
