Description:	The probate record for Daniel Smith is housed in Box 52 of the Knox County probate records. It can be found at the Knox County Public Library’s McGrady-Brockman House. A written document was filed May 23, 1853, by Lebanon B. Smith. He has filed an objection as to the administrating of the estate of Daniel Smith. On September 10, 1853 W. W. Hitt and Andrew Purcell are named as the administrators of Daniel Smith’s estate. Other documents found in the estate are receipts, newspaper advertisement, and accounts with various merchants, inventory of the estate, list of creditors, sale of real estate, summons to court, and sales of estate items.
