A folder containing probate records for Lorenzo Johnson is housed in the Probate Records section, Box 44, at the Knox County (IN) Public Library’s McGrady-Brockman House. A hand-written bond dated December 11, 1847 names Ann D. Johnson as administratrix. Administratrix’s notices published in the Vincennes Gazette on December 23, 1847 suppose the estate to be insolvent and advertise an estate sale. This file holds administratrix’s accounts as well as an inventory of the estate with accompanying bill of sale. Not pictured are a small number of receipts, an affidavit and court orders reclaiming items from the estate. |
