A folder containing probate records for Peter Fox, Sr. (Fose) is housed in the Probate Records section, Box 31 at the Knox County (IN) Public Library’s McGrady-Brockman House. In a press-printed bond filed March 16, 1840, Peter Fox is named as the administrator. In a renunciation of the same date, Mary Fox (Fose) ceded administration to Peter Fox. This folder also includes an administrator’s account, list of court costs, inventory and accompanying bill of sale. Documents in the file suggest that estate was divided among Fox’s widow Mary Fox, Joseph Fox, Susanah Peck, George Wampler, Peter and Rebecka Phillippe, and Benjamin Benedict, guardian of John H. Benedict. There are numerous other receipts of payment received from the estate. |
