Description:	Records of the Vice President for Administrative AffairsIndiana State University ArchivesRecord Group UAR1.3Scope and Contents: The records of the Vice President for Administrative Affairs were records createdand maintained by that office, which includes the function of the Secretary of the University. This officekept record of the documentation between the various vice presidents, colleges, schools, anddepartments of the university in addition to the Office of the President and the Board of Trustees.Eventually, the office was discontinued with the role of the Secretary of the University being transferredto the Universitys general counsel. The dated records span from 1942 to 1997, but the majority of thedocuments focus on the decades of the 1970s and the 1980s.Arrangement: The first series contains finished reports and data collected for accreditation processeson the university, school, college and department level. The second series contains minutes and meetingreports from the Faculty Senate, the Board of Trustees and other university bodies. The third seriescontains files relating to Sarah Clevenger, an employee of the university, and the lawsuit she filedagainst the university. The fourth series contains materials created by and a final report of a commissionto study the experience of women on Indiana State Universitys campus. The fifth series containsmaterials relating to specific university bodies on the department level, including Public Safety, theComputer Center, and University Archives. The sixth series contains general files relating to the day‐to‐dayoperations of the office. The seventh series contains the personal files of Charles Hardaway, VicePresident of Administrative Affairs.
