TheAdvance staff hopes to have this edition readyfor distribution by the first week in May. There is but one thing thatcan keep the book from being out by this time, and if every one will observe the followingrules, there will be no cause for fear but thatit Avill be in circulation by this time.First: EAeryone must feel entirely free toask any member of the staff for informationat any time.Second: All pictures are to be made at thestudio of any photographer who advertises inthe Advance. All pictures to have a dark background. All pictures to be made full cabinet size.Third: All classes should see the businessmanager, Mr. Henry Knauth, as early as possible, and contract for the amount of write-upspace, and number of cuts which will be desired.(Note). (Group pictures are better in appearance and are moreeconomical.)The most important feature is promptness.Get together and have your pictures taken assoon as possible.(Note.) All graduating Seniors receive instructions under separate heading.O FATAL DAY!On Monday, November the twenty-third, inthe year of our Lord, nineteen hundred andfourteen, a terrible calamity visited the IndianaState Normal, a calamity which Avas disastrous and withering in its results. This surmounting disaster crept upon us like a thiefin the night, so to speak, and although warnings had been sounded many times, yet manyunfortunate students were caught entirely unprepared for such a mishap. The one consoling thought left to the manyonlookers is that something like five out ofeA^ery seven students in school escaped. Thislarge number saved, is due largely to the untiring efforts of the faculty, and to them ourgrateful thanks is herewith tendered.
