294THE NORMAL ADVANCETo The Class of 1889 Greeting :It seems but yesterday and not twenty years ago Avhen Ave assembled on the temporary rostrum in the Terre Haute Highschool building to participate in the commencement exercises ofthe Indiana State Normal School and received our certificates.Several members of our class have passed aAvay and the othershave scattered far and wide, each to take his or her part in thestruggle for existence. The greater number of us are marriedand our children either have or are about ready to graduate fromhigh schools or other institutions of learning.Probably the changes which have taken place in our AlmaMater during this period are of still greater interest to all. Fromno building at all, and such was the condition Avhen Ave graduated, the institution has expanded to four large buildings and shestands in immediate need of at least another. The number ofmembers in the faculty has greatly increased, the courses of studyhave expanded accordingly, and the student body has grown inproportion. As a member of the class of 1889, I Avish to hereby extend toeach of its members a hearty greeting and best wishes for future success and happiness. YouhaA*e a standing invitation to visit us and renew old acquaintances.Ulysses O. Cox.ULYSSES O. COX, 89Head of Departm nt of Zoology and Botany,Indiana State NormalRoll Call1. Elmer B.
