Description: ANNUAL REGISTER.39COURSE FOR GRADUATES OF HIGH SCHOOLS.Two Years.Graduates of commissioned high schools receive a credit of
one year, and are thus enabled to complete the English Course
in two years. They are admitted without examination to the
highest class entering at the beginning of a term. Such stu¬
dents are required to take all the professional subjects of the
course, and to make a thorough study of the common branches,
so far as this may be found necessary. They are permitted to
carry an extra study throughout the course, if found able to
do this profitably, and are relieved from studying such of the
more advanced branches as have been pursued in the high
school and of which they are found to possess a thorough
knowledge. To high school graduates who complete this course
certificates of graduation and diplomas are granted on the same
conditions as to those requiring the full time.The following are the high schools of the State whose gradu¬
ates are entitled to a years credit on the course of study in the
