Byrne Motors Inc., Princeton, Indiana

Description: Photograph of the exterior of Byrne Motors, Inc which was located at W. Broadway and Hall Street in Princeton, Indiana. It was built in 1923 by the Byrne Brothers and started out as the Princeton Transfer Company. They ran a taxi service and repair shop. Later on they sold tires and car parts as well as Gulf gasoline. In 1955 Pat Byrne bought the Chrysler Plymouth franchise. From 1955 till 1989 the majority of car bought by the Gibson County Sheriffs Department were Plymouths. Pat Byrne was know and respected as a Chrysler mechanic. There is a Gibson County Sheriffs Department squad car in front of the store.
