Stiffy Green, Vigo County, Indiana

Description: Madonna Johnsons transcribed account of the legend of Stiffy Green as collected by Micah Johnson. According to the legend, Stiffy was a dog who died of heartbreak shortly after his masters death. He was then stuffed and placed inside the mausoleum. The informant recounts that Stiffys eyes glowed green each time she approached the mausoleum and shined a flashlight inside.
