Outlaw legend, Paoli, Indiana

Description: Duane Benhams transcribed interview of Owen Stout about outlaws in Paoli, Indiana. According to Stout, there was a family named Miller, and they were robbers. They robbed people all over town. No one called the law because in that time it was customary to take the law into ones own hands. One man was captured by a posse and was being transported somewhere by train. He jumped from the moving train and was not heard from for forty years. When someone recognized him, he was a school teacher.
