Description: |
Copy of letter from Theodore Debs, 07/30/1936. Says that he is no longer in accord with the policy and direction of the Socialist Party since the National Executive Board has assumed a disrupting, dictatorial role in the organization by revoking the state of New Yorks charter. Writes that he cannot believe that these comrades were kicked out of the Socialist Party after standing fast to the organization throughout the war. Remarks that he was also disgusted by the way that the National Executive Board packed the last convention. Says that he would feel like a hypocrite if he did not resign his membership with the Socialist Party. Writes that he would like, after 33 years, to tender his resignation as a member of the Vigo County branch of the Socialist Party. |
