A safety lamp manufactured by the Wolf Safety Lamp Company. The miners safety lamp featured an enclosed flame covered by a fine impervious mesh. If the flame dimmed when the lamp was raised to the ceiling it signalled too much gas and not enough oxygen in the mine. |
