150 journal of the common council special session controller of the city of terre haute as insurance premiums are presently deducted in such office section 3 the salaries of all municipal employees of the city of terre haute shall be fixed on an annual basis weekly basis or an hourly basis as established in this ordinance but the salaries shall be paid in a manner determined by the board of public works and safety a vacation pay municipal employees of the city of terre haute shall receive paid vacations as follows 2 weeks for 1 year through 10 years 3 weeks for over 10 years of service all head of departments shall receive a 3 weeks paid vacation b personal days municipal employees of the city of terre haute shall receive two 2 days paid for personal reasons c sick days municipal employees of the city of terre haute shall receive eight 8 paid sick days d holidays municipal employees of the city of terre haute shall receive the day designated by the city administration in celebration of the following holidays new years day january 1 1988 friday martin luther kings birthday january 18 1988 monday lincolns birhtday february 12 1988 friday washingtons birthday february 15 1988 monday good friday april 1 1988 friday primary election day may 3 1988 tuesday memorial day may 30 1988 monday independence day july 4 1988 monday labor day september 5 1988 monday columbus day october 10 1988 monday general election day november 8 1988 tuesday veterans day november 11 1988 friday thanksgiving day november 24 1988 thursday day after thanksgiving day november 25 1988 friday christmas day december 25 1988 sunday day after christmas december 26 1988 monday section 4 that all new employees hired will be hired at ten 10 percent less that the salary set by this ordinance at the end of six 6 months employment the department supervisor can increase the salary to a level of 5 less than the salaries set by this ordinance after one 1 year of employment salary will be equal to that set by salary ordinance this section shall not apply to heads of department nor to positions or individuals which require special education or training as designated by the board of public works and safety section 5 the illegality or invalidity for any reason of any of the sections of this ordinance or parts thereof shall invalidate only such sections or sections as are so determined to be illegal or invalid and any such invalidity shall have no effect on the remaining sections of this ordinance section 6 that members of the police department herein referred to in section 1 board of public works and safety shall also be subject to the terms and conditions contained in special ordinance no 38 1987 section 7 that members of the fire department herin referred to in section 1 board of public works and safety shall also be subject to the terms and conditions contained in special ordinance no 39 1987 section 8 all ordinances or parts of ordinance in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed section 9 this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and shall be effective as in the salaries provided on and for january 1 1988 presented by ray azar councilman passed in open council this 31st day of july 1987 ray azar president |
