Description: List of substandard houses from the northeast area of South Bend. Details condition of certain homes and their status of repair, demolition, or pending demolition.
STATUS OF SUBSTANDARD HOUSES FROM NORTHEASTAREA OF CONCERNED CITIZENS1. 1241 East Corby - Was inspected and will have 60 days to repair from date of letter 9-24-79.2. 1056 North Burns - Owners are repairing this home; they have permit.3. 1022 North St. Louis - File in Legal Department for lawsuit for civil forfeiture.4. 721 & 723 East Howard - File in Legal Department for lawsuit for civil forfeiture. 5. 911 East Miner - House has been demolished.6. 805 North St. Peter - Has been inspected 9-24-79 and owner has 60 days to comply from date of letter.7. 509 South Eddy - Plumbing Department has told them to repair sewer at once. File in Legal Department for lawsuit for civil forfeiture.8. 1023 East Cedar - Garage up for demo hearing and house is being reinspected for demo hearing in three weeks. 9. 1113 East Sorin - Was inspected and new owner has 60 days to repair from date of letter 9-24-79.10. 1132 East Sorin - House file is in Legal Department for claim, Garage was up for hearing September 24, 1979. Given until October 25, 1979 to repair. 11. 1238 East Sorin - Inspected and letter to owner 9-24-79. He has 60 days to repair.12. 1114 East Sorin - Will be up for demo hearing 9-27-79. If affirmed, they will have approximately 30 days to demo. If not completed we will demo. Takes approximately 60 days after. NOTE: THE HOUSES IN LEGAL DEPARTMENT WILL BE CHECKED PERIODICALLY AND WILL BE PUT UP FOR DEMOLITION WHEN WARRENTED.
