Around the Bend was a newsletter of the Womens International League for Peace and Freedom and Pledge of Resistance (WILPF). It contains news and information regarding civil rights and social justice activities in and around South Bend, Indiana, as well as national and international news thought relevant to readers. In this issue there is an essay by Caroline Domingo; Personal/Political: Splitting the Grass Roots. The local National Organization for Women (NOW) petitions to join Around the Bend partnership, supported by an essay from Laurie Nicholson and Michael Evans, a report on protests against an expansion of Four County Landfill while the continue to accept out of district toxic wastes, and a report on Abdul Nur in Nicaragua. |
