South Bend Central, Indiana basketball champions, 1953

Description:	South Bend Central High Schools basketball team celebrates their 1953 Indiana State Championship. On March 21, 1953 the Central Bears defeated Terre Haute Gerstmeyer by a score of 42-41. The team included Jack Quiggle, Jim Reider, Dan ODonnell, Tom Schafer, Horace Blanton, Emery Molnar, Bill Harmon, Paul Harvey, Bob Scannell and Jack Wiltrout. Elmer McCall was the coach, and his assistant was Bob Turnock. School principal P.D. Pointer is front and center, with other coaches and cheerleaders also celebrating.
