Eggplant, burgundy and cream silk mens necktie with abstract fern pattern. Tag reads, Robertson Bros. South Bend. Tag reads, Hollyvogue California Classics Made in California. Founded in 1904 by George and W. A. Robertson in a tiny storefront, the business repeatedly expanded, finally opening in a six story building at 211 S. Michigan, offering a wide range of goods and a luxurious tea room on the top floor. Their motto was Quality First. At its height, the store employed 400 people and published a monthly magazine. The store closed in 1982, and the building was converted to apartments. |
