The Center for the Homeless, Inc.813 South Michigan StreetSouth Bend, Indiana 46601(219) 282-870030 November 1994Seahorse II1902 Western Ave.South Bend, Indiana, 46618Dear Friends,We wish to thank you for your generous contribution of food made to the Center for the Homeless on 23 November 1994.Sadly enough the demand for Center services continues to grow at an alarming rate of 20% peryear. Last year alone, the Center served an average of 103 men, women and children per night,up from 87 persons per night in 1992. This summer we have also been forced to turn away more than 300 people due to lack of space. As you may know, the philosophy of the Center for the Homeless differs from the usual “warehousing” concept of sheltering and feeding the homeless. The Center and its tenant agencies provide a variety of services including medical care, drug and alcohol abuse treatment, education, child care, legal and social services, job training and placement, among others. These programs provide each child, woman and man with the support, skills, and self-worth necessary to become a self-sufficient and productive member of society. Thanks to friends like you, miracles do happen on a daily basis. Hope is born each time a Center guest enters recovery from an addiction, seeks treatment for a physical or mental illness, takes G.E.D. classes or begins our new job training program. You inspire us with your generosity. We will keep you in our prayers, and ask that you do thesame for us.Sincerely,Louis Mario Nanni,Executive DirectorMANY THANKS!Drew Buscareno,Development DirectorAct justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with your God. - Micah 6:8
