(with corrections in pencil and ink) Recollections of George Winter by one who had lived near him as a child. Summary of G.W.s life history and artistic output. G.W. had recounted the story of Frances Slocums abduction (and the general state of white-Indian relations in the 1770s), her life with the Delawares and Miamis, and her children and later descendents. These recollections are repeated here. Many of G.W.s watercolors are in the possession of the Tippecanoe County Historical Association. |
