Two yearspreviously, Slocum had visited G.W.s studio to see the portrait,but could not as G.W. was away in Ohio at that time. Mr.Miller had informed Slocum that Ewing had refused to pay theextravagant price G.W. had asked for it. Slocum requests thatG.W. state his lowest price for the work, which he will pay ifit is reasonable.Notation on address side: received Jan. 6, 1847; responded Jan. 13, 1847. |
