This snapshot shows a group of boys (some with baseball mitts) from New Albany, Indiana, some of whom have a letter E on the front of their shirts. They are (L-R): first row: John Rue, Paul Crab, Dorsey Phillips, Left Schaefer. Middel row: Harold Utz, Bud Schad, Walter Toots Winters. Back Row: Norb Schaefer, John Edmondson, Lee Bussey, Red Stewart. Toots Winters later married Martha Mullineaux, a well know teacher in the area. It is suggested this photo was taken in the early 1900s on the field on Shelby Street, NE of the Rochenbach house and thw Orphans Home. |
