This snapshot depicts the east side of Pearl Street between Spring and Market Streets in New Albany, Indiana in the 1930s. The picture was taken above street level and shows Burds Confectionary at 330 Pearl; Huff Furniture at 332-4 Pearl; Thom McAn Shoes at 328 Pearl; Kaisers Tobacco (326 Pearl); and Mutual Trust & Deposit at 332-4 Pearl, and Kinney Shoes on the west side of the street. There are many clear images of people walking on the street and at work, a bus, and cars circa 1930. |
