The Landing of the Scribners reenactment, New Albany Centennial, New Albany, Ind., 1913

Description: Series of 22 photographs of New Albany events or buildings decorated for the New Albany, Indiana, Centennial Celebration in 1913. Most if not all of the photographs were taken by George Riddle or Adam Heimberger. Seven photographs [ir-mss-355-00044 through 00050] show the opening ceremony of the centennial celebration, which was the reenactment of the Scribner brothers arrival to New Albany. The men were greeted by Native Americans, played in 1913 by costumed Redmen Lodge members. Handwritten on the back of this photograph: ;The Scribner Boys Approach New Albany in The Landing of the Scribners.;
