Swallow Robin girls dorm at Taylor University, Upland, Indiana, 1918

Description: From the Reith family album, dated November 1918. Lyle Reith lived on the Taylor University campus in Upland for three months in late 1918 when he attended officers training. World War I ended in November 1918 and he returned home. One of his several snapshots of the campus documents Swallow Robin Dorm in November 1918. According to Taylor Universitys web site, this is the third oldest building on campus, built in 1917 under the direction of African-American architect Samuel Plato. It was renovated in the late 1980s.
