Description: Real photo postcard view looking southeast on Main Street toward the intersection of Mitchell Street. Businesses seen are Kelly House, Frank Lisle Billiards and Cigars, Pontius Bros. [grocery], and Otis [A. R. Otis Drug Store]. A cart selling popcorn near the intersecton. Postmarked January 16, 1910.Comment from Michael R. Mapes, May 5, 2017:his view of Main Street is looking southeast toward its intersection with Mitchell Street. The photographer was probably standing on the balcony of the Reyher Hotel at 119 North Main. Visible on the east side at 108 North Main is the Pontius Brothers grocery store. It was operated by Minor & William Pontius. Next in line is Frank Lisles Billiards & Cigar store, then a stove dealer and the Post Office on the corner. Above the billiard hall and stove dealer was the Home Telephone Company exchange. Across Mitchell street is the Kelly House Hotel at 101 South Main and the Kelly House Café at 103. Further down the street can be seen the Sign for the A. R. Otis Drug Store at 111 South Main. Above the drug store was the Central Union Telephone exchange which was managed by A. R. Otis.
