According to the Indianapolis Star February 28,1938, p.13, the Shawnee A. C.s [Shawnee Athletic Club] won the championship of the Brookside Senior League with 12 victories and 3 defeats. Their club rooms were at 4007 East Michigan Street. Team members are listed as Dick Lubking [#10, Thomas Richard Lubking], Charles Kuhn [#7], Arthur Beldon [#9], Leland Scholl [#3, Leland Farrell Scholl, 1920-1942], Tom Weaver [#5], Gene Brady [#6], Charles Endsley [probably seated far left], Bob Von Staden [standing far left] and Frank Vann [seated far right]. [Most were identified by comparison to their yearbook photographs and online newspaper articles.] |
